Beautiful Feet – part 2

He will not let you fall… but you may stumble. He never promised it would be easy but he did promise he would uphold you.
Lean in and let him steady you then take that STEP!!!

Psalm 37: 23-26

23The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives

24Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand.

25Once I was young, and now I am old.  Yet I have never seen the godly abandoned or their children begging for bread.

26The godly always give generous loans to others, and their children are a blessing.

For anyone who has been around church for a while you will well remember Scripture In Song (when most of the songs we sang were taken directly form scripture).

The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord and he delights in his ways, though he fall he shall not be cast down for the Lord uphold him with his hand.

A while ago I talked about your feet and as I was reading this scripture this week I was reminded about your beautiful feet.  The first question that came to mind is `WHAT’S YOUR NEXT STEP????

If my steps are ordered by the Lord and He delights in my way and the path that I am taking; if he is upholding me and ensuring that even when I stumble I will not fall and when I feel like I am falling he will hold me and steady me, then what is my responsibility:  TO TAKE THAT STEP.

it is my responsibility to move forward and take that step he is asking me to take.  Have you been stalling, having you been wavering in unbelief, have you felt uncertain about which step to take?  Maybe you’ve taken a step but have baulked at taking another…why?  Do you not trust Him?

When you trust that God is directing your steps then it is easy to walk in that but when we don’t feel his presence and don’t trust his leading then that step will come with uncertainly and confusion and even overwhelming fear. The premise here is that the Lord directs the steps of the Godly.  If you belong to God, your heart can trust him. Even if you stumble,  God’s promise is that you will not fall for He is holding you. He doesn’t promise no stumble.  Stop questioning his promise when your foot hits a boulder or a snag or even get’s blisters from taking so many steps you’ve lost count and just want to stop.

What’s your Next step…better get stepping…Step towards your future and away from your past

Step towards the girl in your world who has pushed you away? Or hurt you

Take a step towards forgiveness ..not a leap or a run but just one step…

Take a step towards being generous…don’t give your all …but give something…one step will lead to another.

When those steps are directed by the Lord you can trust him to navigate really well.

What step did you take to come to Jesus?…That was one big step but how many steps since then have you taken to prove that he is Faithful.

He will not let you fall… but you may stumble.  He never promised it would be easy but he did promise he would uphold you.

Lean in and let him steady you then take that STEP!!!

Sisterhood is about taking a step to touch another who’s life needs value and worth.  Will you step out, step forward, step up or sidestep what God is asking you to do TODAY???

  1. Thanks for the encouragement Jenny. 🙂
It is so true, we need to take the first step. If we want God to direct us we need to be moving. We can only be directed as we move. For example, a train will never reach is destination if it stays at the station. It can be full of people with direction and places to go. As it starts to move forward it can then be directed by the rails to its final destination. God wants us to step out, and as you said he will be there to help, support and encourage (hold our hand). He places the shoes of desire (dreams and goals), destination (guidance and direction), and durability – the right style of shoe for each person and their purpose, on our feet and then asks us to step out in trust and faith. He then direct us.
When we give it a go it is always amazing to see were we end up and what we see and experience along the way.
